Buddy Table Light is Silver Design Award winner in 2020 - 2021 Lighting Products and Lighting Projects Design Award Category.
Buddy Table Light

Buddy is a minimal, playful table light designed by Mona Sharma and made by Gantri, who 3D print lights using PLA derived from sugar crops. The adjustable head was a key idea from the designer, resulting in a new, stock component for future designers on the Gantri platform - offering better products and open source design. Each light is locally made in California and hand finished using water based marine paints, giving luxury, made to order products that are attainable, sustainable and safer for the planet.

Mona Sharma

Mona Sharma is an Industrial Designer interested in creating products that are honest, simple and enjoyable. ​ She seeks opportunities to experiment with manufacturing techniques, whilst tapping into user perceptions - always with the ambition of pushing boundaries wherever she can. She graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2017 with a first class Masters in Design, completing internships along the way. So far she has experience within design for habitat including lighting and furniture, ceramics, packaging for world leading food brands, 3D printing for prototyping and manufacturing, and most recently consumer technology within the audio and communications sphere. Sustainability, including material choice and end of life have always been key factors for Mona's work.
