Situated in the centre of Kai Tak residential district, the Green Recovery Station serves to collect, sort and recycle the city wastes. The Station is integrated with extensive outdoor greenery and courtyards to harmonize with the surroundings. The partially transparent building facade displays the waste treatment machinery and the recycling process to the public. The Station promotes the concept of pleasurable sustainability and instills a green living culture in the community.

The department is responsible for food safety control, import control on live food animals, management of food incidents as well as environmental hygiene services and facilities.
