Codependent melds psychology and design, specifically focusing upon the physical manifestation of a psychological condition, codependency. These two intertwined tables must rely upon each other to function. The two forms are incapable of standing alone, but together create one functional form. The final table is a powerful example of which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Fletcher Eshbaugh began his career in New York City creating work amongst the product, fashion, and graphic industries while maintaining a fascination with Psychology. This distinct path informed his unique perspective which borrows from each discipline in equal measure. Interested in the idea of a product as much as the form and final design, his approach also tempers traditional with novel, applying psychological markers in each of his designs. In 2008 he formed “1th”, his design consultancy to focus on these projects, while also maintaining numerous positions and clients in each field such as Coach, Beautyblender, Dell, and The Money Team.
1th Studio was established in 2008 to cater to a diverse group of clients ranging from the fashion to cosmetics, all with a firm root in product design. Since then, the last several years have seen the focus of 1th Studio's work move to its own work which is rooted in both product design and psychology, deemed "AnimaForma" and expressed in the most recent works of "Codependent" and "Reset".
