The design of the eclipse lamp attempts to establish the connection between natural phenomena and products. Starting from the principle of eclipse formation, the two abstract circles symbolize the sun and moon. The circular frame that symbolizes the moon rotates around the axis and blocks the light that symbolizes the sun. It not only perfectly explains the principle of the eclipse, but also realizes the adjustment of the brightness of the light, and also symbolizes the passage of time.
He Ziqiang is a doctoral student in design at Beijing Institute of Technology. His research direction is artificial intelligence-assisted industrial design. His works have won internationally renowned design awards such as the iF Student Award and the K-Design Award, and he has published many related papers. He believes that artificial intelligence technology will greatly expand the scope of design and improve the effect of design, allowing us to embrace artificial intelligence and embrace new design models.
Beijing Institute of Technology's School of Design and Art, located in Beijing, was formerly the Department of Industrial Design established in 1984. It is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning to set up industrial design disciplines in China. After more than 20 years of practice and exploration, it has gradually established a leading position in the field of domestic design education and has become a member unit of the Industrial Design Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. In order to meet the needs of multi-disciplinary and diverse design talents in the highly developed socio-economic society in China, since 2000, the college has successively established departments of visual communication design, environmental art design, cultural heritage, decorative painting and traditional arts and crafts. The college was formally established in 2002, gradually forming a comprehensive professional development pattern relying on science and technology, combining design and art. In 2009 it was renamed the School of Design and Art.
