São Paulo is a cosmopolitan city that receives people from all over the world without distinction. There are a huge number of Japanese restaurants. This new restaurant, although Japanese, is based on industrial architecture and the renovation and enhancement of existing spaces.
Naoki Otake lived in Japan for 5 years, of which 3 years were spent in a temple. Later, he moved to Tokyo, where he undertook studies on traditional Japanese architecture. After his immersion in a stripped-down monastic lifestyle and in Zen architecture, Naoki developed an architectural language that draws on the simplicity of forms and promotes light and natural materials, with a contemporary approach that represents the dichotomy found in modern Japanese culture.
At Naoki Otake Architecture and Design, we are dedicated to developing commercial, corporate and residential solutions. We are proud to have received of a number of architecture awards for the restaurant and store projects developed throughout our history including a Golden A Design Award in 2017. Our practice centers on minimalist ideas. We deliver projects with a contemporary language that is characterized by straight lines and a distinct Asian flair.
