The visitor center was conceived by MUDA-Architects to blend the indigenous spiritual and cultural heritage by respecting coastal and tropical nature ecology of Haikou. Due to the conspicuous location, it was proposed in a catchy shape of an oval pebble for conforming to the context and becoming a landmark to unfold the cityscape. A mirroring form of the local traditional roof was created as a shelter from the tropical climate. Glass curtain wall installed with undulating sunshades, was adopted for facade to save energy, correspond to the coastal feature and provide spacious view to visitors.

MUDA-Architects was found in Boston, USA. In April 2015, MUDA entered Chinese market and built Beijing office and Chengdu Office. MUDA is composed by creative designers with the background of global diversification, who are forward-looking, experienced, professional and ingenious in the field of architecture and design， and focus on architectural practise. MUDA has realized several award wining projects including Residential Stadium Design Competition in USA, Xinglong Lake Bookstore Architectural Design Competition and was selected as principal designer for Altay Airport. Widely been recognized and published both in China and internationally, MUDA has also won several international awards as the ArchDaily Building of the Year 2020 Award, 2019 American Architizer A + Awards and the Blueprint Awards in the United Kingdom in 2019.

MUDA-Architects was founded in Boston, USA and based in Beijing & Chengdu, China since April 2015, which is a global architecture firm mainly engaged in architectural design, interior design, urban design and art design. By following the design philosophy of creating unique, practical, aesthetic, eco-friendly and sustainable designs, a series of works have been accomplished. MUDA endeavors to do forefront designs to balance the relationship between people and environment.
