This is a brand design for a new luxury resort, built on top of Huangbai mountain in Hunan Province. The aim of this project is to combine traditional Chinese aesthetic with Western simplicity into branding design. The design team extracted the rich characteristics of animals and plants in Huangbai mountain and designed a crane shape logo using traditional Chinese painting technique, the feather of cranes had been simplified into a design pattern. This basic pattern can form all kinds of animals and plants(which exist in the mountain), and made all the design elements looks harmonious.
Chao Xu graduated from UNSW with master degree of Architecture design. Due to her architecture education background, she specialized in how to analysis all the design projects with comprehensive and rational thinking. As a graphic designer, she always fights for the most acute but sensational design solution to a complex problem, she believe a juicy design is the fruit of a profound interestingness.
Ahn Luh is an urban resort brand that epitomizes a contemporary China meaningfully influenced by a long history of cultural traditions. Ahn Luh reflects how tradition and modernity can intertwine to present an original, urban resort concept.
