#487: I cannot remove images for my design! How can I remove an image of my submission?

You can remove your design but you cannot remove single images from your design, this is an intentional design decision as we noticed designers were using the remove images function as a short hand to remove designs; now removing a design is not the same as removing an image; when you remove a design, it is marked as deleted in the database, and this way, they are not queued for preliminary jury or shown to jury for voting, however when designers remove all images, one by one or all at once, using the remove images function, this triggers a change in design marker in the database and the design is queued for the preliminary jury to review, as well as it is still kept in the competition for voting. Upon careful analysis we noticed that almost all cases of image removal needs, was indeed designers trying to remove their designs not images; which they can already do using the remove a design function, given this we cancelled the image removal function which was being misused almost all the time, as an alternative, we will usually help you remove images from your designs if you contact our support. Furthermore, another reason for lack of remove design image function (remove design function exists), is to ensure that projects have as many images as possible, it is to the benefit of participants to have as many images uploaded in the system as possible. In case, there is something terrible you make; such as a mistake of uploading some confidential or secret material as images, you can upload a blank image or any other image you own to replace the existing image; indeed this method is even better for ensuring your image is replaced as well as removed. For all other needs, just contact us and we will remove the image if needed or you can use remove design function if you are trying to remove the project instead. Just as a final note, that if an entry is marked as a winner, the entry would be locked and we would not remove images or modify text unless a very special reason is provided; or we could disqualify the entry, this is because your entry is voted on your images and text provided, and changing them post competition does not make sense; jury did not vote on your new images or replacement text; thus you cannot retain the award status if you wish to change your images (in most cases, except for uploading higher resolution clearer images).
