To me, design is intentional problem-solving—it’s about creating experiences that seamlessly blend aesthetic appeal with purpose. Coming from a fashion design background, I’ve always seen design as a medium for self-expression, identity, and storytelling. Clothing is not just fabric stitched together; it’s an interface between the body and the world, much like how human-computer interaction (HCI) shapes the interface between users and technology.
In my transition from fashion to UX design, I realized that while mediums change, the principles of good design remain the same—it must be human-centered, functional, and evoke emotion. Whether it’s crafting a garment that empowers confidence or designing a digital product that enhances user experience, the goal is the same: to create with empathy and intention.
Art, on the other hand, is boundless. It does not require usability; it only demands authenticity and emotion. Art moves, inspires, and provokes thought. My perspective is that design borrows from art to connect with people on a deeper level, while art borrows from design to find structure and application in the real world.
At its core, I believe that great design should feel effortless, and great art should feel limitless. The intersection of the two is where I thrive—creating experiences that are both visually compelling and deeply meaningful.
