About Mai Wahdan : Mai Wahdan is the founder and interior design director of Luxentti Design House, a multidisciplinary studio specializing in architecture, interior design, landscaping, and custom furniture. Her practice explores the relationship between natural materials, spatial experience, and cultural identity, often incorporating biophilic principles to strengthen the connection between people and place. Through residential, commercial, and product design, she leads projects rooted in material exploration and contextual awareness. In addition to her design work, she participates in sustainability-focused initiatives and advocates for design as a tool for human connection and purposeful living.
Design is the art of living; art is the expression of the soul. To me, design is the thoughtful composition of elements that solve problems while enriching our daily lives. Art, on the other hand, transcends utility — it stirs emotion, invites connection, and gives voice to the intangible. I believe the most impactful creations lie where these two realms meet. Whether I’m shaping an interior space or crafting a furniture piece, I approach design as storytelling. Every line, texture, and material carries meaning. My work is rooted in biophilic principles — I’m inspired by nature’s quiet strength, organic forms, and timeless beauty. I draw equally from diverse cultures and the places I’ve traveled, translating these influences into objects and spaces that feel grounded, intentional, and emotionally resonant. In my furniture pieces, I merge sculptural form with everyday function. I gravitate toward natural materials like stone, wood, and metal, elevated through refined craftsmanship and luxurious finishes. The goal is always the same: to create pieces that are not just seen or used, but felt. Functional, yes — but also poetic. Design for me is deeply personal. It is how I engage with the world, express my values, and bring comfort, beauty, and meaning into people’s lives. Whether furnishing a space or designing a standalone piece, I strive to create objects that embody the balance between creativity and practicality — where aesthetics serve purpose, and every detail tells a story. Ultimately, I see design as a way of living — and furniture as art that lives with us.
