I embarked on a journey fueled by personal observations of the struggles faced by those close to me suffering from asthma. FindAir was born out of a desire to address these challenges through innovative design and technology. Our work has been recognized with numerous awards in startup innovation competitions, a testament to our commitment to creating products that offer win-win situations for all stakeholders. My driving force is to create products that eliminate limitations and empower individuals to reach their full potential.
Design is a discipline that drives change, influencing behavior, emotions, and the environment towards sustainable and positive outcomes. It thrives within a framework of constraints and is an interdisciplinary practice that integrates aesthetics, engineering, technology, and specialized knowledge to create solutions that are functional, visually appealing, and innovative, yet understandable. It aims to be intuitive and accessible to all, ensuring no one is alienated by its applications or outcomes.
I advocate for responsibility in the design process, particularly through the efficient and mindful use of whatever resources are available, to achieve as positive an outcome as possible. Producing new things is costly on many levels, not only from a business perspective but also because it can incur additional social, environmental, or operational costs that are not initially accounted for.
Creating universal and reusable devices or parts helps reduce some of these costs and risks associated with the development process. This approach is particularly beneficial for small and medium-sized companies, allowing them to leverage economies of scale and reduce future development costs. Universal and reusable components also have the advantage of being thoroughly tested and proven in various applications. This strategy can lead to a reduction in waste and a lower environmental footprint, as fewer materials are discarded, and products become easier to repair, repurpose, or recycle.
