About Olivier Felix Isselin : Olivier Felix Isselin is a French-Italian artist, designer, and creative director working at the intersection of design, architecture, and visual storytelling. Trained in architecture, he has developed a multidisciplinary career spanning events, communication, contemporary art, and gallery management. Guided by a strong sense of creative independence, he combines artistic sensitivity with project discipline to shape refined and structurally rigorous concepts. Recipient of multiple international design awards, he is known for a sober and elegant approach in which form, proportion, and meaning are treated as essential rather than decorative. To be an artist is to perceive the world with intensity and to translate that perception into form. Art is born from this inner necessity. Design differs in its purpose. It is not directed only inward, toward the creator, but outward, toward use, function, and the realities of life. It must respond to technique, materials, ergonomics, and constraint. But design does not exclude art. On the contrary, it requires the same depth of vision, the same sensitivity to form, and the same capacity to create meaning. Function alone is never enough. What gives an object its true identity is the presence of thought, measure, and imagination within it. Art, design, architecture, and urbanism ultimately converge in the same field of inquiry: humanity, and its relationship to space, whether built, lived, or imagined. To be an artist is, first of all, to perceive the world with intensity. It is to experience space, objects, materials, proportions, atmospheres, and human presence in a deeply personal way, and to give form to that perception through creation. Art is born from this necessity: not from decoration, nor from effect, but from an inner relation to the world and the desire to translate it into a visible, tangible, or sensible form. Design differs in its purpose, though not in its depth. If art may emerge from a personal impulse, design must also answer to use. It cannot exist independently of function, context, constraint, or the life of the object. Technique, materials, ergonomics, production, and the realities of use are not secondary parameters: they are part of the very substance of design. A well-designed object is never arbitrary. It must respond, serve, endure, and find its right measure. Yet design, when it is true design, is never reduced to problem-solving alone. Function is essential, but it is not enough. What gives an object its presence, coherence, and identity is something more difficult to define: a certain accuracy of thought, a sensitivity to form, a sense of proportion, and the ability to create meaning without excess. This is where design meets art. Not in self-expression for its own sake, but in the capacity to transform necessity into form, and utility into character. This relationship between beauty and use has always mattered to me. I have never seen design as ornament, nor art as pure abstraction detached from life. I am interested in works, objects, and spaces that remain sober, precise, and durable; forms that do not seek to impress superficially, but that reveal their intelligence over time. In this sense, creation is not a matter of style alone. It is a matter of clarity, rigor, and intention. Art, design, architecture, and urbanism ultimately share the same field of inquiry: humanity, and its relationship to space. Whether this space is physical, domestic, public, symbolic, or imagined, the essential question remains the same: how do we inhabit the world, and what forms do we create to express, organize, or elevate that condition? To create is therefore not only to invent. It is to observe, to understand, to measure, and to give form with accuracy. It is to seek a balance between freedom and constraint, expression and function, singularity and universality. This is the space in which I work.
