After three evolutionary stages including a preparation committee, promotion team, and the official preparatory office, the Bureau was officially inaugurated on January 1st, 2003. The previous Kaohsiung County Government Bureau of Cultural Affairs merged with the City Government Bureau after the city-county consolidation on December 25th, 2010, to continue the promotion of artistic events, implementing cultural policies, and developing creative industries.
We promote local growth in the areas of arts and humanities, community development, heritage preservation, international cultural exchanges, as well as music appreciation and aesthetic living.
