He is an architect with a Master in Architecture & Urban Planning from USP - University of São Paulo. For nine years, he was a researcher at NOMADS.USP – Center for Interactive Living Studies of the University of São Paulo. In 2007 he presented his master’s dissertation, “Hybrid Habitation: Interactivity and Experience in the Cyberculture Era”.
In 2008, Guto founded Estudio Guto Requena. Since then, he has won several awards, and lectured and exhibited in more than 20 countries worldwide. Between 2012 and 2015, Guto wrote a column about design, architecture and urbanism at Folha de São Paulo, one of the major Brazilian newspapers, and collaborated as well with several magazines. Since 2011, Guto has been creating, screenwriting and hosting TV, web and cinema series.
