About Viktoriia Korytina : Viktoriia is the founder of branding agency, Wishnia, which specializes in marketing, design and advertising. Wishnia was founded in 2018, during which time more than 40 projects have been closed. Her biggest achievement is to be able to take on social projects, that are aimed at helping people, for free. To her, the most useful thing a designer can do is apply their knowledge to help others, which she does. Mostly, she takes local projects, because the greatest way to contribute to one's community is to do the thing one does the best.
STATEMENT OF ART:
Firstly, design should solve a functional problem, be practical and understandable. Art on the other hand exists to inspire, to encourage, to force changing and be changed. If the work combines practicality and the ability to inspire, this is the best symbiosis of design and art that can be. I believe that the work of a designer is in theirs vision of solving a problem, and the work of an artist is in theirs vision of the world.

To my way of thinking, design is both somewhat more complicated and, at the same time, somewhat easier than art. On one hand, outside its beauty, it should also be needed — it should be easy to use. Art has the privilege of being understood through time. Sometimes these two concepts are combined, and humanity receives Gaudí's masterpieces. If evaluating art after a long period of time — it can be said that it is a true masterpiece — when people continue to cling to it, and time has no power over it. Design is less static — it changes.

On the other hand, art does not exist out of context, because out of context it is just beautiful pictures, beautiful sculptures and interesting books (or the opposite — ugly). Art does not exist outside of society, and therefore outside of politics. Art is a reaction to political events, because everything around us is, in one way or another, is politics. We can see it now, exceptionally. For example, "The Pinkest Pink" would mean nothing to a person, not especially art. Unless, of course, they know about "The Blackest Black." Or people would get furious at "the banana duck taped to the wall." Unless, of course, they know the context. Or, even going back in time, it is noticeable: the painting by Max Ernst "Europe after the rain" would seem unusual or strange to people until they knew the political motives behind it. I think that politics and art go hand in hand — in one way or another. But that's not the case with design. It doesn't need to be political, and it doesn't need to be social. The design should be clear and simple for those who use it. A designer can choose whether to be or not to be political, but an artist, I'm afraid, cannot.

When I think about it, it just amazes me how similar — and yet divergent — design and art are. And partly, I am both — an artist and a designer.
