View Larger Image and Additional Photos of Servant DamienAbout Servant Damien : As designer and artist, he is used to mixing painting, sculpture, design, craft and computational design in his research.
He focuses his work on the forms of objects and the psychologic representation/comprehension we have of it.
These experimentations have been guiding him to make furniture with new typology, shaping the idea of movement which he calls “emotional is more”.
He particularly enjoys building an idea, a thinking, from scratch to finish. He makes his own tools if needed, solving all technical problems. It’s always challenging, pushing him beyond limits.
The day when I saw Sir Henry Moore’s sculptures was a turning-point of my life. I was amazed at the beauty and fluidity of curves as well as the purity of white.
Since, I’ve come to realize the marvelous power of art. Art gives us pleasure or sadness, sharing emotions with the viewers. Art lifts our vision, broaden our horizon, and deepens our understanding of life.
So, for me, design and art is a social practice, a creation, an evolution of people’s lifestyle and being. These changes empowers me with incredible desire to continue creation till the end.
