About Andrea Escudé : He studied Interior and Spatial Design at the School of Design of the Politecnico Milano and will attend Tsinghua University in China next year. He has a deep interest in spatial design as well as art and drawing associated with a comparative approach of interior design values in European and different cultures. He is particularly attracted towards all art forms and always enjoyed drawing as well making and repairing objects. He loves to work in a team on challenging common goals to improve our society. He is currently a volunteer in different activities where he tries to positively contribute to the community we live in.
STATEMENT OF ART:
I find fascinating to explore shapes and materials that lead to the creation of a new experience for a group of people who interact within a collective space, especially in the context of developing countries. I am also captivated by the power that design has in shaping individual behavior and also in changing the means of communication between human beings. My interest in social spatial design stems from my conviction that design can offer new solutions to re-establish links between an area and communities that live within it. I am particularly interested in sustainable development projects which are becoming the standard approach to urban expansion in developed and developing African countries. Moreover, in areas with a fast-growing population, contemporary designers have to face more and more restrictions on available space and must find innovative solutions to respect the urban heritage.
