View Larger Image and Additional Photos of Yi-Chin LaiAbout Yi-Chin Lai : Yi-Chin Lai is a graphic designer from Taiwan, currently based in Strasbourg, France. She loves everything that has to do with visual communication, graphic design, editorial design. Moreover, she feels a true devotion for typography. She not only enjoys doing projects, but is even more enthusiastic when she has chance to exchange knowledge with professionals who work in the cultural field.
As a designer, Lai enjoys tying visuals and articles together to reflect current design trends. Her works across a wide range of disciplines such as branding & identity, typeface design, logo, signage, poster, book design and digital production.
In the same time, she conducts a plastic research activity around imaginary writing system, she often questions the legibility of abstract writing and tries to rethink their meanings graphically.
As a graphic designer, visualizing the concepts is a principal part. The step of concept-studies which fit the subject is crucial to help me building a creative, but also appropriate concept of project.
Also, the visual and personal identity is mainly at the center of my works. I distinguish my works by supporting them with cultural meanings and my perspectives. I often attach importance to the balance of composition, whether by applying colors or by creating geometric collocations.
