About Dagmara Oliwa : Architecture and design can, and even should, be a constant search for what is an expression of creativity that should evoke emotions and inspire us. STATEMENT OF ART:Still in the way of creative exploration. Trying to stop the elusive designing items and human-friendly objects, poetic, subtle, sophisticated, inspiring emotions, not always obvious, avoiding banality and simplifications, but not forgetting the ergonomics and functionality. I draw poetics from the sources, nature-based organicity, and build on the achievements of modern technology and new materials, operating light, subtle forms, but not devoid of dynamics... Context is important, because my area of action is both architecture and design, their correlation, interaction... Both the inside and the outside are important. For the design environment is just as important as the architecture is for the design which fills it... Currently, I am experimenting with organic forms, which allow us to get closer to the natural world... The journey to the world of design is discovering the mystery inherent in nature ... in the waving blades of grass, in the tangled branches of the trees, in the ripples caused by a drop of rain on a lake, in the complex model of the structure of DNA, in countless curves, which form an estuary... We draw from nature as we explore it. Thanks to unusual ideas and technological expertise contemporary artists have enormous opportunities to create art and architecture liberated from physical constraints. Parametric design allows the execution of projects that were previously beyond the reach of man and mankind now freed from the domination of the right angle, which can be a conscious choice rather than a necessity. Perhaps for the first time in the history of the world we need this unity with nature so much and have the ability to create it. Not only can we create organic forms, but may also use materials whose beauty is hidden inside… in the stone blocks... in the trunks of trees... We have reached the point where 'less is one of the possibilities'... Creators are seeking the balance between the geometry of forms, geometricity, sterility of surfaces and the organic nature... The limits are established only by human imagination... What will be the next step? Maybe kinetic architecture... and interaction... 'Look at nature, get inspired and create'.
