Praxis d' Architecture is a team filled with passion and believes in the importance of architecture, as a profession, its ability to transform our living environment into a better world. Through great endeavor in implementing each idea into reality, the team seeks architecture resolution and experiences where one would calm down and feel comfortable, allowing a moment of self reflection.
Founded in 2009, Praxis d’Architecture is actively engaged in a broad range of projects of various scales, from offices, artist studios, exhibition spaces to installation, furniture, etc. Our design begins with identification and analysis of cultural and physical context of the site and drawing inspiration from it. Then a theme of design is to be acquired. This theme will be tangibly represented through the device of architecture, and determines the nature of material, light and space. The theme will be transformed as a result of the reaction when it confronts with site, programmatic requirements, and other external forces. Design process is to discover, during the “reaction”, the threshold between perceptibility and imperceptibility of the theme. This process is calibration of proportion between the real and the mental, the fact and the theme. Sometimes the theme can be resolved into architectural experience, but sometimes it will never be resolved unless the theme is reacquired, because architecture bears practicality. What architecture can bring us is not just a feeling of beauty or comfort, or reminiscence of culture and history, but above all that, a feeling of sublimity, a noble condition of human instinct. Architecture and design infiltrate into every detail of our daily life. We consider architecture and architect not merely a profession, but a life style. When time allows, we interact with design studios in universities, go to see art exhibitions and movies, visit a built environment, etc. While getting familiar with the technical aspect of a project design, we form a habit of thinking about the origin of design. The most important thing for us is to find a way of living and thinking that leads to creativity.
