Her dynamic international experiences - living and creating jewellery in Venezuela, Mexico, United States and Canada - inspired a respect for the global landscape and local environments. She is dedicated to sustainability in her studio, recycled metals purchasing and believes that playful and interesting jewellery does not need to sacrifice elegance or ethics.
As an artist I create sketches and drawings inspired by the relationships between nature’s organic elements and man-made structures. As a metalsmith I transform this sketches into jewellery pieces, exploring processes and materials in unique ways to produce exciting results.
My recent work expresses a play with light, dimension and surface formations, almost like painting. I use steel as my canvas, the torch as my brush and a mix of metals – fine gold, fine silver – and gemstones as my paint palette; creating in each piece different intensities of luminosity and spectrum of light.
I think of each piece as a small scale sculpture imbued with feelings and emotions that awakens the mind and senses of the observer and the wearer.
