FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
KW: I have known that I want to be designer ever since I finished high school so after a couple of years doing preparatory art courses I started studying furniture design at Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome. After two years in Rome I finished my bachelor in industrial design in Milan. I have always been a fan of Dutch design so after finishing my studies in Italy I moved to Eindhoven where I did an internship with Julien Carretero followed by an employment at small-scale furniture company JSPR. In 2012 I moved back to Sweden to start my own design studio.
FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
KW: The world of Studio Kajsa Willner consists of daily bringing new ideas and concepts into peoples lives that leave them affected by an experience around a product or an interior. The clients and assignments vary from big to small, everything from developing a new product to making an entire interior project from idea to final decor and installation. Kajsa also has her own collection consisting of objects that has got a more experimental approach, produced in one offs or limited edition and possible to buy directly from her webshop or by sending an email for a special request. The hallmark of Studio Kajsa Willner is to dare, to explore and to in a playful way challenge the preconception of what design is and should be. Why? because Kajsa strives to constantly continue to surprise, amaze and make people happy by giving them unique design experiences.
