| DESIGN NAME: Glass Library PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting INSPIRATION: In order to fulfill the dual goals, a sales office and later as a library. The common key point is coziness: a place which one will lingers. The fixtures and furnishings are from the physical world, while mood and tone will dive deep to tickle our soul. The magic spell for this connection is "Light". This creates the sense of being connected to the external world while enjoying the serenity and revitalizes our interests to explore. A state of Zen. Following the above design goals, they have structured the building into a translucent glass boxes with three different split-levels, the four-sided glass curtains enclosed the sense of transparency which bought by the spacious. In order to avoid and control the direct daylight refracted into the interior spaces , a photo-sensor has placed along the window areas to balancing the lighting intensity of lux levels of overall ambient during the daytime. Through a tremendous data calculation and collection by Dialux software & on-site investigation for the analysis of the lighting design environment. CHALLENGE: Constraints are that the external glass structure gives rise to the aesthetic issue in providing electricity for lighting, supple lighting covering the spacious and non-partitioned three split levels construction and budget constraint that banned the usage of dimming system which caused the difficulties on balanced of light intensity. Also, the project is mounting the accent light inside the 60mmx55mm height steel rod, the custom made fixture to achieve the hierarchy effect perfectly for aim of high transparency purpose.
