| DESIGN NAME: Timeout The Perfect Retreat PRIMARY FUNCTION: Spa Bath INSPIRATION: With its health spas and swim spas, Whirlcare aims to help people reduce stress, relieve tension and back pain, find inner balance and increase well-being and performance capability. The anatomically correct position of special hydrotherapy jets causes an underwater massage, which acts on the muscular reaction points. Therefore not only designers and technicians were involved, but we also asked doctors for their advice. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The perfect retreat for a break from hectic everyday life: this is the Timeout spa bath from Whirlcare Industries, which makes luxury affordable. Its intensive hydromassage functions tackle even persistent tensions. With the Timeout, Whirlcare has succeeded in combining maximum functionality with a modern Bauhaus style design, which impresses with elegance and a striking design language. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In the Timeout model, four Hydro Power Pumps ensure powerful hydromassages - unique for this class. With 94 hydrotherapy jets distributed over four seats and a lounger, the Timeout enables varied hydrotherapy massages that reach almost all body zones. During its development, explicit attention was paid to an anatomically correct position of the jets. Thus they exert their effects directly on the muscular reaction points and problem zones. To faciliate maintenance, the outer panels can be easily attached and removed within seconds. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Produced in Whirlcare’s own production facility in Southern Germany, the Timeout model made its first public appearance from 5 to 8 November during the 2019 aquanale show in Cologne, Germany. It will be launched on the market in spring 2020. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Out of responsibility for the environment, Whirlcare places emphasis on resource-efficient, sustainable production, and durable materials that are recyclable and free of pollutants. An eco-friendly PU material ist used for the reinforcement of the spa bath tubs, and the chemically and biologically neutral high-performance ISO Green insulation reduces energy costs. The edgy design has both aesthetic and very practical aspects: the high-performance Iso Green insulation used here can literally get to the last corner, which makes thermal insulation more efficient. TAGS: Whirlcae, Timeout, Bauhaus, hydromassage, functionality, hot tubs, spa RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Whirlcare stands for innovative spa baths that are developed from an ecological and economical point of view for therapeutic private use. Experience from selling hot tubs had shown that customers often have to accept compromises. So the idea came up to develop a hot tub which combines the latest technologies with health promotion, energy efficiency and a modern design. With the help of a climate chamber, the spa baths are energetically optimised. CHALLENGE: The round hot tubs that had been common until then did not match the renaissance of the Bauhaus style in architecture. The aim was to combine maximum functionality with a modern design that captivates with elegance and a striking design language. The harmonious lines should reflect that the timeout is the perfect place to relieve stress and recharge your batteries. However, in the production process deep drawing with square tubs is much more difficult. A solution also had to be found for the outer cladding (Protective Panel), which should be easy to assemble and disassemble.
