INSPIRATION: In 2008, three university classmates from Aachen, Germany were tired of the headaches when booking trips home. So they set out to build the most flexible travel search engine across Europe. A travel companion that puts the power back into the hands of the traveller.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The product simply provides as many options as possible in the most transparent way, to give travellers the freedom of choice. Whether they prefer the fastest, cheapest or most eco-friendly option this time, the product never assumes what a traveller wants, and we never push one mode transport over others. Every individual is different, with different needs for each unique journey. There is no right or wrong way to travel, so we promise to help every traveller.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Every individual is different, with different needs for each unique journey. With one search field, the user will discover all the available travel options: the fastest, cheapest or even eco-friendly. The product includes a parallel search b/n airplanes, trains, car-sharing, and buses. The user does not need to install numerous applications on the phone now. The product will help to find and select the most optimal route, indicate the location of transfers with just a single buy-button click.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2008 by three university classmates from Aachen, Germany. Global product redesign began in 2020 by Berlin Team. In the past decade, we have grown from three students into an international family with more than 70 members, spanning over 30 countries of origin in our Berlin office.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The company is very careful in researching users and their behaviors. Almost every innovation in the product, whether it is just a visual change in colors and font or the logic of user interaction, checks with various UX Research methodologies. The team has done a tremendous job of creating the Jobs To Be Done approach of understanding what motivates customers to buy the product. It can be an excellent tool that can help guide teams towards better decision-making and innovation.
CHALLENGE: The main challenge in the project is the technology behind the search engine. The team needs to generate an algorithm for selecting routes in such a way that the user is provided with the best possible search results for the connection, price, duration of the route, and so on. In parallel, the search should be carried out quickly and not force the user to wait long for the results. Also, the main challenge is to realize the purchase of tickets in one click. It is one of the difficulties in the travel industry.
