| DESIGN NAME: City Details PRIMARY FUNCTION: Exhibition INSPIRATION: “City: Details” is a presentation of a model of a comfortable, developed and modern city with opportunities for a calm and active pastime; a city worth working and living in. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: For the first time ever, an innovative solution was used to organize the exhibition area, where instead of even rows of exhibitor booths there was built the city’s working miniature model with all the specific components, such as: the city square, streets, a public garden, an amphitheatre, a sports ground, a children’s play set and a special darkened area designated for night lighting. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Everybody could visit “City: Details” and see a presentation of a model of a comfortable, developed and modern city with opportunities for a calm and active pastime PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The showcase of design solutions for hardscape elements “City: Details” was being held from October, 3 to October, 5 2019 in Moscow in the territory of the expocenter VDNH (The Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy). |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Another innovation of the exhibition was the appliance of sound design technologies. Unique audio tracks with street sounds were written for several thematic areas (public garden, square, children’s play set and night city) which allowed the visitors of the expo to fully immerse themselves into the atmosphere of a big city. Night city area demonstrates prospective lighting solutions to make comfortable urban environment. With the help of volumetric projections and laser technologies, visitors were transferred to the fabulous atmosphere of a night park, where owls flew and the leaves of the trees rustled. One of the unique objects of the exposition was a streetlight with an integrated camera which performs recording with a viewing angle of 360 degrees. In that area there were also represented lighting art objects, different types of illumination systems and calm pastime spaces decorated with L.E.Ds. The total green area amounted to 1000 square meters where more than 100 trees, 5000 perennials and 6000 bushes were planted- SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Advanced concepts of hardscape elements, sports- and playgrounds, lighting solutions and functional urban art objects were presented on an area of 15 000 square meters. All in all, there were more than 250 projects designed. It had to be an interesting exhibition not only for professionals but for all citizens.
