| DESIGN NAME: Xiu Shan Reception Center PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential INSPIRATION: In order to create the distinguish feature and comfort of having park adjacent to the clients project, a lot of connections with external green environment and landscape have been made. The transparent structure of metal frame and glass provide a perfect outdoor view access from the interior space. From the far green and alive park, the thriving big tree in the middle, to the pine tree next to the reception center, everything is integrated through a careful and comprehensive design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is located next to a park. The entire design breaks the form of common luxury sales. With Living in the Park as the main concept of the design, and utilizing commonly used material such as metal sheets and metal frame, the architectural appearance has a simple yet beautiful with truss shape, creating a homey and warm atmosphere. As the entire space is facing the North, full glass window is used to integrate the park and greenery outside into the interior space. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design team designed the structure in a triangle sloping direction facing the North, and replaced the solid structure facade with the light weighted floor to ceiling windows and doors. In terms of engaging with the surround nature, the interlocking pine trees around the building give a richer effect. From the far, the view from indoor area also changes due to the different angle. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Inside the interior space, the design team used a large amount of wood for flooring material, VIP room ceilings, the main reception cabinet, and the rear facade, while the small digging shaped reception cabinets covered with white concrete beautifully integrated with green plant in the middle to enhance the space quality. To extend the green living concept, the design team also uses metal bracket above the main reception to make a Living hanging greenery decoration, which enriches the possibility of vertical greening, and also expose more nature in this project. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The design team besides the frequent use of metal sheet in the construction of the reception center, oppositely, they also built a light and simplified metal truss with metal sheet roof in an unobtrusive and direct way. Due to the simplified of ceiling design, the utility pipes and metal brackets are hidden, and the metal truss frames are also have direct exposure from the space, bringing a industrial-like design perception. TAGS: Reception center, Relaxing residential design, vertical greenery, environmental landscaping, windproof and shockproof RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The sales space of Xiu Shan Reception center, in order to convey the characteristic of selling houses, living, and connection to the park, the design team specially created the appearance of truss building, and made a good utilization of the metal frame structure and glass material in an open and penetrating way, a new concept of reception center. A large amount of wood materials and green plants are used in the interior space to echo the outdoor landscape. The sky lantern lighting hanging in the air symbolized the concept of sales center. The soft and hard design is skillfully merged in order to combine the concept and the feelings. CHALLENGE: This project is located in an open and empty site, the design team planned the building to face the north and open the interior space through floor-to-ceiling windows and doors to make it more transparent and avoid the high sun exposure of west area without any shading device. Similarly, in order to solve the windy problem of the open area and also the typhoon, the metal truss roof can properly respond to those problems. The design team also reduced the roof width distance, and effectively increased the indoor sunlight exposure while resisting the wind problem.
