| DESIGN NAME: Bugaboo Ant PRIMARY FUNCTION: Travel Stroller INSPIRATION: The Bugaboo Ant is born from the idea that we needed to find a more compact stroller for families living in smaller spaces and parents travelling with children. We set out to create a concept where we squeezed the most comfort into the most compact form, including a good combination of storage, luggage and organizational capacity. The Bugaboo Ant was inspired by automotive designs and gave the opportunity to experiment with the aesthetics of surface design. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Made with screws so parents can replace parts easily when needed. Outside made of 100% polyester. Plastic parts are made of PA6 - compounds from AKRO-PLASTIC. We wanted to create something different. Something that hadn’t yet been seen on the street. Something both comfortable and beautiful in its most compact form. CHALLENGE: We set out to create a concept where we squeezed the most comfort into the most compact form, including a good combination of storage, luggage and organizational capacity. The Bugaboo Ant has a very transparent design in which form and function combine. Everything revolves around a central joint for extra suspension and enhanced comfort. The Bugaboo Ant is designed in such a way that the rear frame contains and protects the folded structure to keep the seat protected and safe while traveling. Customizable side panels make up the sidewalls of the luggage container, and using this kind of suitcase shape was a way of communicating that the Bugaboo Ant could be used as luggage as well as for strolling, with an always-accessible rear luggage basket.
