INSPIRATION:
Equipping with the soft brush head and bristles, Mi Kids Sonic Electric Toothbrush is specially designed for children to develop their interest in brushing teeth and to help them learn how to brush teeth properly.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Mi Kids Sonic Electric Toothbrush features an interactive brushing animation that children can learn from the app. Packaging, as an inseparable part of the product, is characterized by cartoon elements and children illustrations. Thus, it is exactly the same as children are reading a picture book or playing a kid’s game while unpacking the product. The packaging turns itself into a game box, bringing children an eye-catching interactive experience and providing more fun and entertainment.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The cartoon elements and children illustrations are applied as one of the packaging strategies to better communicate with kids, making the packaging vivid and enjoyable. The packaging adopts a pull-out drawer, displaying images switched from tooth decay on the teeth to the dental plaque, then finally to the shiny teeth when sliding open the box. It is a plastic-free box and is made of paper.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
December 2019 Beijing and finished in February in Beijing, China.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Equipping with the soft brush head and bristles, Mi Kids Sonic Electric Toothbrush is specially designed for children to develop their interest in brushing teeth and to help them learn how to brush teeth properly. To prevent from hurting their delicate mouth, 3 modes are available for your kids based on their ages. The empowered motor helps kids thoroughly clean every corner of their mouth; however, reminders of brushing time and intensity are always with you. Amazingly, the brush can play a song during brushing. What’s more, kids can access to the vivid brushing details step by step, and get the virtual rewards from the app.

CHALLENGE:
As a result of the distinctive design philosophy, the packaging is not only used for protecting the product but also tuned into an illustration book or a toy that kids can play with even they finish unpacking. In this way, children can create interest in favoring this product, as well as brushing their teeth. As electronic product packaging, this box is plastic-free and is made only of paper.
