| DESIGN NAME: Leon Mege Signature Bridal Collection PRIMARY FUNCTION: Engagement and Vanity INSPIRATION: The visionary approach to jewelry design is inspired by the multi-functional designs in nature. Our innovative concept gives the end-user two rings in one. A simple spin around the finger turns an engagement ring into a casual band with a customized message. Changing socio-economics make single-use engagement ring less and less economically justified. Flip it to turn it into a different ring. We make the engagement ring affordable due to its dual functionality. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is the concept of a ring with two faces. An engagement ring can be flipped to reveal a decorative Podium stand. Two rings in one same ring can be worn with the center stone facing up or down. The Podium can be engraved, enameled, or set with stones. It gives the collection its signature look Benefits include: Additional structural strength to protect the ring base The ring be displayed standing up in the showcase The additional weight at the base balance the ring in an upright position. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Each ring has two "heads" - one is the primary gemstone and the other is the decorative "podium" element. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The work on the line started in July 2019 in New York and will be never be finished |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The rings parts are designed using CAD/CAM technology. The printed models are cast in 18K gold or platinum. However, most of the prototypes are one-of-a-kind samples hand-forged with occasional use of cast parts. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The collection consists of multiple ring designs, all set with gemstones and diamonds. The rings are made in platinum and 18K (750) karat white, rose, or yellow gold. Some styles require a combination of two metals. Pave is set with natural white or pink diamonds. The options for the center stones are limitless, colored stones, and natural diamonds of various shapes. The diamond sizes vary from 0.5 carats to 20 carats. We also offer a selection of round lab-grown diamonds 1-3 carat in size. They are dainty, and not built to withstand the daily abuse. Our research focused on methods and technologies to increase strength without sacrificing the inherent beauty of a delicate ring. We studied fashion trends and their effect on bridal psychology. We researched materials used in jewelry and methods of jewelry manufacturing. Our cross-border research of fashion trends, and metal composition. We relied on Google for our research. CHALLENGE: Creating something really unique that has not been done before. It is worth noting that in bridal jewelry EVERYTHING was done before, so we are very proud of our efforts.
