| DESIGN NAME: Rock Jewelry PRIMARY FUNCTION: Store INSPIRATION: Gemstones are naturally mined and very valuable. In the process of human exploration and utilization of nature, there are hardships, accidents, and opportunities everywhere. There are two design concepts, one based on business strategy and the other based on architectural space and material logic. Designers' focus is on how to make decorative interiors the language of architectural spaces and materials from an architect's perspective. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In this case, the treasure trove of private negotiation and jewelry is at the heart of space and concept. Corresponding to the treasure house, designers designed a path that entered from the outside and slowly extended. The guests who walked in will experience the natural power of the rock stone walls, and circumnavigate the boulders and visit the horizontal long window display cabinets in the wooden grille walls. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In order to meet the needs of external guests, the stone house opened two gaps to the entrance and two cracks on the wall. At night, the outside lights dimmed, and the slits cut out sharp light. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2019 in Beijing and finished in July 2019 in Beijing. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Due to the fire protection requirements of the mall, designers use wood veneer laminates to make cabinets. The ceiling uses perforated aluminum panels to solve the problem of air conditioning return air. The ceiling is shaped by splicing, and the fiber optic lights are used at the holes, and the stars are dotted to set off the stone wall effect. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The project covers a total of 57 square meters. The long windows gradually climb and narrow. The guest finally bypassed the sharp corner of the stone house, walked through the tea room, opened the weathering steel sliding door, entered the treasure house and watched the jewelry. Generally, the whole mining, cutting and polishing the smooth surface in the factory, has lost the initial rough trace and impression when people contact with nature. Designers hope to restore this rough and original feeling in the store space. CHALLENGE: Due to the uneven thickness of the original customized stone, there is a great risk for the bearing of the shopping mall floor. After some discussion, the designers learned that there is another method, which can cut many knives intensively behind it, and then knock off the pieces on the back that are cut into the grate shape to reduce the thickness.
