DESIGN NAME: Unbound Heart
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring
INSPIRATION: We wear jewelry for a very important purpose, which is to match clothes and occasions. Many of my friends have their own precious jewels, which may be valuable because of the precious gem stone . I love it but I can't wear it everyday because of the style of clothes or the occasion. So I designed this ring mechanism to make a ring present three styles, which can match all most styles and occasion.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: These series of rings feature in the 3 styles of wearing as the most shining main stone can be changed into 3 positions where each one can be of different tastes. When the ring is upward, a complete close circle is formed, Retro style is shown through the 18k gold dotted with small pearls and jewelries. When the ring is at the middle, it is semi open. The ring parallels with the ring arm, making ones seem fashion and modern. When it is downward, the visual effect is soft and lengthened,

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2019 and finished in September 2019.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The original purpose for the design is to make it stylish and changeable. Thus, we have tried many functions making it feasible while at the same time stable at exact positions. This mechanism uses the inherent toughness of unhardened gold.
The ring is made of 9K GOLD. Our series has three shapes, ellipse triangle and rectangle. The gemstones on it are topaz, tanzanite, and emerald. There are little pearls around.

CHALLENGE: The most difficult part is to make the ring smooth when changing the angle, and at the same time to reach the fixed angle, it should be stable and motionless. For this reason, we have done a lot of experiments, and finally found a mechanism to achieve the ideal state.
