Dried Fruits Packaging

INSPIRATION:
The inspiration behind this project was mainly the story behind the brand idea. The Founder of the brands story was my main inspiration. When she became pregnant with her first child she saw things differently. She had to take a step back. It was time for her to improve her familys eating habits. After the birth of her child their little family started to seriously live on fruit bites.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Whats better than a nutritious guilt free snack for your kids. Packaging Designs for fruit bites dried fruits.The main unique feature of the packs were the character designs that were designed to attract kids and encourage them to change their snacking habits and prefer eating one hundred percent natural dried fruits rather than any other junk snacks. The mission was to empower parents to change their kids snacking habits.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Fruit bites provide nutritious dried fruits to help children eat better, feel better and live better. Fruit bite's products will empower families to change their snacking habits and improve their health and lifestyle of themselves and their loved ones. The design execution was made with kids in our minds and hearts.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in August 2019 in Cairo and finished in October 2019 in Cairo

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The packaging pouches are transparent (see through) for children to get to see the fruits inside also for the parents to make sure that the fruits are in good condition & quality.

Width 90 mm x 45 Depth x Height 140 mm

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
At first the brand's target audience were parents as they are the decision makers (buyers). Then I thought it would be more challenging yet beneficial to design for kids. Because when parents feel that the packaging design might attract their kids and encourage them to eat what's inside; they will give it a try and buy the product.

CHALLENGE:
The research phase was challenging for me ; gathering data then deciding which fruit benefit to visualize in which children can easily understand and relate to as something cool and healthy. Challenge: to design characters that reflect fruit benefits that children can relate to. Mango: Plays a major role in skin health it gives a glow to your skin. Banana: Helps you maintain normal vision and improves your vision at night. Apple: Good for your memory & concentration.

Fruit Bites is an Egyptian brand that sells all natural dried fruits snacks without any preservatives nor added sugar. There are three types of packs, Bananas, Apples and mangos. The aim of the brand is to motivate children to change their snacking habits.
