DESIGN NAME: Manhattan Gleam
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence
INSPIRATION: To highlight freedom of a bachelor lives alone, removed the living room, dining hall and kitchen wall partition, connect them not only by sight, light and airflow, but also create open living space. American metropolis style can best manifest the charm of the luxury fine house. Take off the historical decoration, yet retain the American neoclassical modernity to carry on American classic cozy and generous style. Pursue modernity, with stylish furniture creating modern East Manhattan metropolis.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Consideration came from client lifestyle. Client is a single male who hopes the space will bring Manhattan uptown ambience, grasp bachelor joy and freedom. When friends visit, can have a drink, talk, watch match, and have space to enjoy party together. With metropolis modern style, draw taste of an ultimate noble. With simple figure benchmark, make whole space looks simpler, brighter and wider, with American retro couch, king and queen chair set, bring out the dynamic metropolitan characteristic.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: For client does not like front-back terrace original tiles, grille is used to cover it. Used German imported floor riser device to avoid damaging initial tiles, enable full restoration. In the bedroom, suspended TV wall extend from the middle, the wall does not appear stagnant due to connection to the ground, maintain visual permeability. Special design ceiling to avoid pipeline beams and columns have wavy shape balancing the space. Connected both function of sides, which enriches the master bedroom.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in January, 2017 in Taipei ,Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Whole space uses multi-grind flooring gives original rustic charm. Gray grind flooring has no seams, easy to clean, also creates clear and spacious space. The condensation of the cement condensation shaped unity of the space. Vintage American leather couch paired with king and queen chair in the living room, draw elegant of the client low-profile personality. Back of tall chair and circular handle, fully cover the person seat inside. Bedroom with parquet create a warm retro feel creates a calm and warm atmosphere.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Create modern like Manhattan city lifestyle, made the house fit for often with friends have fun and enjoy party. Front-back terraces planned with an open layout. Made dining hall and living room as walkway to terrace, offer spacious flexible open space. Use the original guest bathroom layout, re-adjusted study room removed many partitions, make it more spacious. In a private area, study room wrapped in a pattern show a low-profile, extravagant sense of luxury, presenting exclusive private space.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Whole spaces are realization of lifestyle of bachelor, made the space like a simple and stylish playground, despite projection screen of 100-inch living room, space to sit and watch a game, or maybe drink in the dining hall or terrace, no matter which public area it is, all can turn into friends gathering spot. The sharp gap between the master bedroom and living room not only present smooth space flow but also form single territory. No matter where it is, privacy not a problem.
CHALLENGE: To make the form of the kitchen bar and function dimension have connectivity with space, the designer particularly rotates it 90 degrees, so that the kitchen bar dining table with about 3m long timber table, which retains the warm and lustrous texture of the wood. With a row hanging lamps on top of the bar dining table, echoing clear yellow light. After the logs are transported by cranes, the carpentry painted on-site, retaining wood natural texture and bring city-style great detail.
