| DESIGN NAME: Starhub TVB Awards PRIMARY FUNCTION: TV Show INSPIRATION: Gardens by the bay brings to mind these so-called supertrees UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Starhub TVB Awards 25th anniversary, held at singapore marina bay sands – sand theatre. We’re invite to do the stage design for this event. More than 30 tvb artist and different singer goes onstage. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The nominations for Starhub TVB Awards are jointly determined by Starhub and TVB for TVB programmes shown on VV Drama, E City, TVBJ and TVB first on demand throughout the designated year. The final results are decided by online voting (70%) and a panel of professional judges. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 3months, Singapore Marina Bay Sands |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The production team is from singapore. We make use of cyberhoist (cybermotion) to let the led wall move up & down. To match with different scenery during the show. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Gross built area (square meters): 230 TAGS: singapore, sand theatre, starhub, gardens by the bay, supertrees RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Any mention of gardens by the bay brings to mind these so-called supertrees – avatar-like, manmade structures fashioned from concrete and steel frames. Their branches, angled to the sky as if in a cry to the gods, shelter vertical gardens comprising over 200 species of plants. So we make use of this form to design for the show. CHALLENGE: There are no hanging point in front of the stage area. When we're going to create a supertrees like structure as decoration. We need to separate these structure into several pieces during set up period. Tailor made 8 load suspending devices from venue rooftop, hanging it one by one to create the overall sculpture.
