DESIGN NAME: Yo,verde
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Olive Oil
INSPIRATION: Yo, verde produces early harvest oil collected in the month of October. The family that collects and produces the oil are farmers and pharmacists. They wanted both disciplines to be perceived in their packaging with an iconic, modern design and using visual codes little used in the olive oil sector.
Starting from this brief, it was studied which visual formula was the most appropriate to convey a message that would unite the territory of the oil and the pharmaceutical sector. The bottom line was that a good idea was to make the bottle look like a classic syrup pot. Three key elements were synthesized, the appearance of the bottle, the name and the logo. In search of simplification in the message, a simple bottle with shapes similar to that of the syrup bottle was used, painting it white, with a sober stopper without artifices. The name of the product justifies the green color of the oil inside. The logo is constructed from the pharmaceutical cross forming a pixelated heart. All these elements are integrated and linked, bringing coherence to the idea.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The product design is emphasized by its strong green colour over white, and its concept about health as the principal brand attributes. Naming, graphic design and finishing work together showing a powerful & consistent product, which breaks the usual design concepts about olive oil.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The bottle is easy to handle because of its reduced measurements. The screw cap is a non-refillable and anti-drip one, which allows to have a comfortable and delightful experience while serving. This Extra Virgin Olive Oil just can be bought in pharmacies, health stores, and own website.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2016 and finished in February 2017 in Úbeda.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Glass. This bottle is painted in white, and printed in two colours.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This bottle is manufactured into glass with rounded shapes, a capacity of 500ml. Its measurements are 20cm height and 7,5cm wide.

CHALLENGE: Our challenge was to design a new visual language in olive oil world, unconventional and fresh, in order to connect to a public which needs to feel healthy. At the same time, this design must work all over the world, and look updated, healthy and simple, according to its cost.
