DESIGN NAME: Alvix
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Drone
INSPIRATION: Outdoor activity trend is growing in recent years, however, the trend has increased the rate of accident. In the meantime, more and more sports players keen on recording their enjoyable sport time by technology advance.
Accordingly, we try to combine the two spheres above, outdoor activity and technology advance, and re-integrating the shape and function, focus on all aspect of user to not only make the sport safer but also create more excitement!
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: ALVIX is specially designed for extreme sports players, who always carry heavy equipment and do high-risk activities alone. For easing the burden of carrying drone and elevate the anti-collision ability, ALVIX is built in a transformable cylinder-shaped body for both easy storage for user and strong protection for machinery.
Moreover, the alarm system equipped in ALVIX will beep and shine when the smartwatch detects the user in danger. With light and alarm, we can make rescue more efficient.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: ALVIX features a cylinder-shaped and equipped with two axes for extending and storing the propellers. Users can pull the propellers in and out by the axes when using or storing and carry it in packs easily.
Moreover, ALVIX is able to be connected to smartwatch and smartphone and track them automatically so that the user can give basic command to drone directly and activate the Safety System to make the drone ring and shine to improve rescue efficiency when emergency happened.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The concept was designed in June 2017 in Taiwan.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Outdoor activity trend is growing in recent years. People engage in these activities to improve both physical and mental health, however, the trend has increased the rate of accident. Since accidents mainly happened in wildness, it not only takes longer time to take actions but also harder for rescue teams to locate where the injured is.
We analyzed people’s surroundings, behavior ability, activity process and so on, aiming at fixing the problems that they will face in different stages.
