| DESIGN NAME: The 3D Crystal Watch PRIMARY FUNCTION: Innovative Timepiece INSPIRATION: The design technique uses the subtraction rule, omits the face plate of watch, and subtly cancels the crown.Widened the stereoscopic sense of reading time, from ordinary 2D to 3D effect, has appearance a sense of technology with stylish. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: To pay tribute to minimalism,achieved products. Large glass becomes the focus of the watch and it increases the sense of space in the watch.The bottom of the glass is decorated with star-shaped time and scales.The crown is hidden at the bottom to get a complete picture. Improve the visual enjoyment of consumers and provide the front and side-by-side read time experience. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The subject of future isn’t far as we imagine. No need to think that too complicated. Use the very simple way with strong and powerful material, the key points no need a lot, just use 1 key point through all design. Don’t go any further than necessary it’s the perfect way. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project created in May 2018 in Hong Kong and finished in February 2019 in China . and was exhibited in China Beijing in June 2019. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This design mainly use glass material more 70% of whole body. That’s why also different with other traditional products on the workmanship. The process and assembly also will have some reasonable changes due to the uncommon material. The solid glass have 2 choice of import sapphire either or thicker mineral glass. Due to the material cost, visibility, glossiness, precious all the choices, printed the dial scale on glass. It gives more important design information on glass too. Also removed dial it’s unnecessary. Focus the glass more about this design. With glass material together it’s the perfect effect for this design. Boldly use glass material the inspiration from the open style modern construction. More visible and impression of the space expression way. CHALLENGE: Watch is very different with other products, it’s restricted when do the designing. Throw off the metal stereotype sensation, refer to construction and related products put them on the creation. Boldly use clear glass, human history all have geniality feeling to the clear things. Not easy get beauty fatigue. The open nature clear material preferably fit in our life.
