| DESIGN NAME: Xin You Ran Baijiu PRIMARY FUNCTION: Beverage INSPIRATION: The theme of this project is about Chinese zodiac product. Pig is referred to as Hai in the Chinese zodiac. The design uses Chinese cultural and artistic elements to show a unique effect. The main visual image is a combination of Chinese calligraphy and landscape painting. The use of calligraphy and landscape painting produces cultural inheritance and design innovation. The use of different materials expresses Chinese cultural characteristics. It enhances the artistic sense and uniqueness of the product. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is about a Chinese zodiac product. The main visual graphic is an artistic Chinese fusion design of calligraphy and landscape painting. Calligraphy is a unique art form. Landscape painting is a creative expression with its characteristics. These two-art form combined in the design with a different application of materials which are ceramic, wood, paper to express a Chinese characteristics packaging design. It enhances an aesthetic sense and uniqueness of the product. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design applies a bold outline of calligraphy and artistic form of Chinese landscape painting on the design to express an artistic effect. We combine the spatial effect and the abundant detail of landscape painting with calligraphy to present the artistic pursuit in a visual form in the design. Thus these two creative forms are turning into one. After the product is on the market then it immediately becomes popular. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The materials of design are paper, ceramic and wood. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The packaging box size is 180mm in length, 150mm in width, 320mm in height. TAGS: Zodiac, Calligraphy, Chinese painting, Pig, Culture RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project is about a Chinese zodiac product. Zodiac is a unique Chinese culture. The design applies the unique art form of Chinese calligraphy and landscape painting to expresses zodiac cultural. After researching a great amount of calligraphy font and landscape painting then we use these two forms of art. The design combines the advantages of these two-artistic form. The result of the design shows a good visual effect. CHALLENGE: The hardest challenge in the project is to mix two different artistic expressions in the design. The design needs to keep the advantages and features of those expressions. The design also needs to enhance the diversified and aesthetic effect of the image. It should be simultaneously restored the design at its production process. This is the biggest challenge to face.
