| DESIGN NAME: Nanjing Fishing Port PRIMARY FUNCTION: Restaurant INSPIRATION: This project is exactly inspired by the poetic scene where a Chinese boat with lighting lanterns stays in a river enveloped in fog. When people come in, they'll feel like in a dream back to an ancient Chinese boat. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Yubo Fishing Port Restaurant - a converted restaurant with three floors in Nanjing, covers about 2,000sqm. Apart from catering and meetings, tea culture and wine culture are available. The decor ties together a vivid new Chinese feel from the ceiling to the stone layout on the floor. The ceiling is decorated with Chinese ancient brackets and roofs. It forms the main element of design on the ceiling. With designed stone flooring layout, it makes space look like a sparkling river. Yubo Fishing Port Restaurant pays homage to the purest form of design by subtly blending the elements lending themselves to both poetic and finished decor. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This project is a converted restaurant with three floors in Nanjing, covers about 2,000sqm. All ancient Chinese elements like brackets, roofs, red colors are important design elements in this design. It also integrates with the stone flooring layout and other elements in elevation. All these design elements create a new Chinese feel space, where people can feel poetic and peaceful. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2019 in Jianye, Nanjing, China and is under construction for now. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Yubo Fishing Port Restaurant is realized through a wide variety of materials. Main material: Wall with wood veneer, latex paint, stone, stainless steel, wall covering fabric; Floor with stone, carpet, reinforced wood flooring, ceramic tile; Furniture, Lamp, Hardware. The theme of the project is making people feel like they are in a Chinese boat staying in a river enveloped in fog with all red lanterns lighted and offering venues to encourage people to have a good relaxation and rest. A huge variety of materials have been used from tiles to wooden flooring and wood being the primary materials. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The project has a total area of about 6000 Sq.mt. TAGS: China, Fishing, Port, Restaurant, interior space, commercial, ancient, lantern RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In early 2019, the client team invited us to set up a design research group to specialize in the new Chinese feel restaurant design where people can feel ancient China. In 2019, the client team hopes to establish an experimental restaurant in Nanjing. Our team has officially started the project. CHALLENGE: Considering the existing site condition, we did a lot of work in creating an efficient and remarkable space. All pipes and equipment are precisely located in the construction drawing.
