DESIGN NAME: Contemporary Domain
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence
INSPIRATION: Contemporary urban styling is about the remnants of the current urban landscape, an every-changing urban vocabulary. The design articulated a particular pattern of spatial layers in creating showcasing of collections of wines, books and artwork, without compromising functional design. With symmetry in spatial layout, materials and spatial framing defines programs and usage in a flowing contextual and synchronized movement.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project assumed the visual narrative composed by contemporary urban styling, as Contemporary implies that it is ongoing, in synchronization with time, without being bounded by a single style. As the soul of the spatiality oscillates between the Chinese Classicism and Western Modernism, contemporary is not merely a divide or cultural demarcation but the effort to decipher the sensibility within the urban estrangement, a narrative in interpreting the coexistence of the old and new.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: With the theme of Art Deco Modern Styling, amalgamated with the Classic Chinese Spatiality, the elegant taste was interpreted in the procession meandering through the interior, from living room to the study, with 1.2 meters glass sliding demarcating the domains and extending the vista. As the vertical timber grille exhibited a simple linearity, the public domain extends with a light grey color tone bringing the Oriental nobility into the space, with an avant-garde aura for the interior.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December,2018 and was completed in December, 2018 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan
