| DESIGN NAME: Elegant Attitude PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Space INSPIRATION: Every expansion from the opens of the space is going to be another scenery. The interior design is meant to connect every space in visual, and also connect the memories in life into a series of framed scenery. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The owners hobby is to collect porcelains. While working on the design, the designer pays attention to the rich lightnings, material and color usage, and in order to expand the visual image, the designer also make sure to lower down the level of luminosity and simplify the material used for the sufficient display space. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In the entrance, 4 round shaped porcelain pieces were specially made and decorated, representing the year of birth of the male owner, the female owner, the year of purchasing the house, and the year of moving in to the house respectively, causing these pieces very memorable piece of installation art. Gray luminous is used on the floors and the walls of the whole space, and this becomes the background of the collections of the owner at the same time PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2018 and finished in March 2019 in Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In searching of the connotation from the tenants life in cultural and pattern wise, this design reduces the consume of resources from producing the building materials, guaranteed a comfortable and healthy interior environment. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The space is approximately 133 square feet, and the large and same ratio windows used in the living and dining space, form a clear and spacious area, and also becoming the main view of the space. TAGS: Gray luminous, sliding door, porcelain collection, framed scenery RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The active sliding door design behind the living room sofa is possible to open fully or partially, and also possible to adjust the position according to the vertical display, forming a focus point of visual. The open design of the dining and kitchen area not only enables interactions in both area, but also creates a more spacious sense of space. By toning down the color, lines and the display, the tenant is till able to enjoy the expression changes of four seasons through the exterior windows. CHALLENGE: This case puts on attention on how to form a perfect match or between the owners collections and the interior. Therefore, the design especially emphasizes on the function of the common area and creates a space with more diversity in functions. The design also finished in an elegant and meaningful taste with the lights and shadows, the piling and combination of colors, and also increases imaginations in the space.
