| DESIGN NAME: Lotus Trend PRIMARY FUNCTION: Vacuum Cleaner INSPIRATION: Combining quality with elegance design, Lotus Trend was designed to meet the customer needs in mid-end category in the bag type vacuum cleaners market. Lotus is compact in size but has 4,5lt dust bag capacity and Hepa filters that combines hygiene, durability and high air filtration capacity. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Lotus Trend is an high efficient and elegant product with its 4.5 LT dust container, 3-stage filter system, 72Db noise level. In vacuum cleaners, when the dust bag is full or the filter between the motor and the body is covered with dust, the suction power of the vacuum cleaner decreases significantly. Thanks to the filter sensor, the indicator light starts to flash red when the bag or the motor protection filter is full. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Lotus Trend is designed with fluidized lines and elegant details. Such as hot foil layered parts and chrome look lines gives the product a more distinguished look. The dominant function of Lotus is functionality, Lotus Trend has a modest design that completes this functionality. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The original Pika series which Lotus Trend takes its roots from started in 2017 in Turkey,Istanbul . Combining Pika Series Cyclonic vacuum cleaner with Lotus series Bag type vacuum cleaner, Lotus Trend was born. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Home Appliances Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: All parts of the vacuum cleaner are designed so that they can be assembled quickly with a minimum error rate. As a result of those economical designs, the cost of the production has decreased. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Package dimensions 35cm x 35cm x57cm TAGS: bag , vacuum ,cleaner , hot foil, hepa, filter, filtration RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We had to create a high efficient product with high suction power and low noise with low cost, to be able to meet the customer needs. The hot foil application on the exhaust area and on the wheels gives a high end chrome look but it is very cost efficient compared to chrome plating. The design optimization of the parts to be able to apply the hot foil was very challenging, we had to make dozens of mold trials to reach the goal but the final result is very satisfying. CHALLENGE: Lotus Trend is a member of Pika vacuum cleaner series sharing lots of common parts with Mila Trend which is indeed a Cyclonic Cleaner. To be able to use %90 common parts with a complete different segment product yet creating new vacuum cleaner with different features was very challenging but very cost effective.
