| DESIGN NAME: Deyun Honey Sweet PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hotel INSPIRATION: The design is inspired by the traditional royal architecture in Qing Dynasty, where each door, courtyard, ornament and even food are custom-made by the standard of royal and imperial families. It is a place for cultural exhibition, business meetings, private gatherings and weddings. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Facing South, the project is composed by multiple courtyards. It adopts the traditional Chinese royal garden-like building structure, which is connected by an axis with three directions as the middle, the east and the west. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Facing South, the project is composed by multiple courtyards. It adopts the traditional Chinese royal garden-like building structure, which is connected by an axis with three directions as the middle, the east and the west. The functional areas include Chinese banquet hall, multi-function hall, Chinese VIP room, meeting room, etc. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Featured the traditional Chinese royal quadrangle courtyard, Deyun Honey Sweet Hotel is located in the hereditary land of Hao Ge who is the eldest son of Huang Taiji in Qing Dynasty. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main materials include jade, jade carving, wood carving, gold brick, gold foil and mongolia black stone, which are the traditional materials for ancient royal decoration. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: With a total area of 30,000 square meters, it is the largest private quadrangle courtyard in China at present. The Chinese banquet hall can accommodate 120 guests, and it connected with a bamboo lane and the courtyard landscape. The tea room is in a strong cultural atmosphere, where there are Chinese paintings hanging on the wall, telling the traditional Chinese cultural stories. In the west of the project, there is a kaleidoscope-like wine cellar. Up along the stairs, 6,699 bottles of wine from all around the world are displayed on the shelves. TAGS: hospitality, interior design, oriental, traditional, banquet RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Deyun Honey Sweet Hotel showcased the unique charm of Chinese architecture. With the combination of tradition and modernity, the project created a new leisure lifestyle of collection, exhibition and tasting. CHALLENGE: The quadrangle courtyard restored the traditional architectural technique to the largest extend, which can be reflected in the details like screen wall, copper lion sculpture, black brick, eave and roof beam.
