| DESIGN NAME: G-RO SIX PRIMARY FUNCTION: Push Forward Carry On Luggage INSPIRATION: The luggage industry is an old fashion one that has been given very little innovation. As a result most available luggage has very little differences. We noticed that with the advances in personal use devices, there is no more need for bags to carry features related to technology. We also wanted to reduce the pain points of travels and we focus on developing a carry on luggage that will make travel effortless UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The back end of the case rolls on two of G-RO’s patented large-diameter, axle-less GravityRoll wheels while two sets of enlarged spinner wheels in front provide increased maneuverability. This bag is able to roll smoothly and effortlessly on any terrain, with wheels so durable they’re guaranteed for life. The brand new, patent-pending “split handle” design works in conjunction with these wheels to create one-of-a-kind suitcase, optimized in ergonomics and functionality. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: With the push forward configuration, this bag can be considered the healthiest bag in the industry. Push luggage requires the least amount of energy and reduces all the pain points existing luggage generate in humans PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project was originated by our R&D team in Tel Aviv. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: - SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 22in x 14in x 9in TAGS: luggage, push, ergonomics, innovation, carry-on, health RESEARCH ABSTRACT: G-RO’s unique take on 4-wheel luggage is the result of unparalleled innovation, incorporating the highest principles of industrial design, engineering and material science. After years of multidisciplinary research and hundreds of thousands of miles of travel, G-RO developed the concept of ‘push’ luggage. With the new push configuration, the user's body weight acts as a counterbalance, requiring zero additional energy to roll the bag. It makes maneuvering through crowded places, and navigating through narrow airplane aisles, as easy as pushing a baby stroller. CHALLENGE: The SIX was designed to always be pushed forward, virtually eliminating all the effort required when using traditional luggage. When we lug or roll other bags, we use muscle groups we don't activate regularly. This can create major pain and discomfort. Pushing forward concentrates the entire activity on the main muscle groups we already use on a daily basis. As a result of this design, the SIX is the healthiest travel bag ever created. All travel-related pain - in the wrists, arms, shoulders, neck, elbow, and back - is eliminated. It makes travel truly effortless. NAME: G-RO PROFILE: Starting with his Airforce career, G-RO founder Netta Dor Shalgi found himself traveling aggressively around the world, lugging lots of equipment, and ultimately breaking every single piece of luggage he used. Seeing the world from this perspective, with his extensive experience with luggage wheels he quickly realized that the industry standards and the offerings on the current market are not in line with the requirements of people with an aggressive/busy traveling profile. |
