| DESIGN NAME: Phan Collection PRIMARY FUNCTION: Collection INSPIRATION: We take inspired from Phan container that is a Thai container culture. the unique identity of thai container used to make furniture that feels Modern Thai. We try to push the products that represent the uniqueness of Thai but transferred to international design. So we just take the identity of Phan. Applied to innovation, Production, and technology that we have. Created work to make a difference in both the Thai and global markets. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Phan Collection takes inspired from the phan container that is a Thai container culture. We use the structure of phan container to make the structure of furniture that makes it strong. Design the form and detail that make it modern and simplicity OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We calculate the strong structure of the folded sheet metal to make the lightest structure. The degree of softness in the metal sheet caused by folding. To make a different sheet metal work. And sit comfortably than the other steel furniture. We mix wood material but it can use in outdoor because we use HDF wood grade that can use. We think about drain of water in furniture design and strong structure to make furniture stable and strong. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2017 in Bangkok and finished in March 2018 in Bangkok, was exhibited in Bangkok design week 2018 and STYLE 2018, Bangkok, Thailand. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: We used laser cut technology and Folding metal sheet machine combination with CNC wood to make a complex and unique detail. Still different in terms of the production process and make it different from the market. Make a product uniqueness than others. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: stool : 40 x 40 x 45 cm / bench : 40 x 100 x 45 cm / table : 90 x 90 x 75 cm / lounge chair : 70 x 70 x 77 cm / side table : 45 x 45 x 45 cm / dining table : 80 x 120 x 75 cm TAGS: Phan, SSTEEL, yongphan, contemporary, home, furniture RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Based on our inspiration in "phan", Thai container. The shape is unique. Because we pull the identity from the Phan. Has a distinctive shape and is different from conventional furniture. But still, provide the features. Good use of furniture. We research in production too. We educate about the relationship between material and production in a steel factory. It is meant to raise awareness about properties of possibilities, efforts, and constraints of manufacturing technologies.
