| DESIGN NAME: Fields PRIMARY FUNCTION: Outdoor Sunlounger and Sofa INSPIRATION: Fields was designed for those people who have limited outdoor space available but still wan to enjoy the outdoor life in a very comfortable way, during the daytime and at night! UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: FIELDS is a multi functional outdoor sun lounger. It can be used as a regular sun lounger and can easily be transformed into a sofa, simply by flipping up the backrests and installing the backrest cushions. No screws or complicated fixations, simply flip up the backrests and enjoy! Great for people with small outdoor spaces. Enjoy the sunshine during the daytime and use the sofa with friends and family at night. You can also create a sofa/lounger by only flipping up 2 backrests while still using OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Fields be used as a regular sun lounger and can easily be transformed into a sofa, simply by flipping up the backrests and installing the backrest cushions. No screws or complicated fixations, simply flip up the backrests, easy as 123! PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design and development of this product took about 6 months. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Aluminium frame, teak woodwork, stitching SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 199x74x41 cm TAGS: Outdoor sunlounger, outdoor sofa RESEARCH ABSTRACT: More and more people have limited spaces indoors and especially outdoors. The challenge was to design an outdoor piece of furniture that could provide a suitable answer to the outdoor needs of 'city people'. CHALLENGE: Although the design looks simple, it took quite some effort to get all the dimensions and ergonimics correct. Espacially the double function of the product needed a lot of attention.
