| DESIGN NAME: 100 Years of the Lodz Philharmonic PRIMARY FUNCTION: Book INSPIRATION: The jubilee publishing house of the Lodz Philharmonic was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of its orchestra. The inspiration for the creation of the publication was the space of the contemporary philharmonic edifice, its architecture, but above all the rhythm. On the basis of the rhythm, in relation to the sounds, the layout of the publication - marking the table of contents and further spacers telling the history of the place are built. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "100 years of the Lodz Philharmonic. A walk in the space of time travel". Showing the journey in time and space, subsequent "points of view" were marked to form separate parts of one story. Each of the "points" has its own title page with a mini table of contents. "Points" are indicated sequentially by numbers refer in the rhythmic form to the organ pipes. It contains descriptions, a rich and interesting illustrations, photos, posters, invitations, artistic programs of tickets from 1915-2015. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The publication is divided into 13 parts. In the archival part the classic font Times was used, in the remaining space, Miriad Pro - one-element font. The title page of each "lookout point" is distinguished by the color from the philharmonic identyfication. The layout of the book allows for differentiation of presented texts (quotes, interesting passages of texts, anecdotes, signatures). The challenge was to find the best solution for typography - showing archival and contemporary materials. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Cover - decal: multi art silk 120 G/M, pantone 268U, foil matt, UV varnish selectively (logo) - finish: uncoated offset paper 100g/m - dust jacket: Curious metalics gold 120g/m printing serigraphy 3 colors pantone: (268, 1945,158), punching, hot stamping with gold foil matt (logo) hardcover SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: number of pages: 400 pages dimensions, 225mm x 290 mm TAGS: book, lodz, history, music, philharmonic, rubinstein, album, publication, photos, illustrations, posters RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Fulfilling the expectations of the Employer - the Lodz Philharmonic, serves as an exclusive gift for the guests of the Philharmonic, it is also an interesting collection of knowledge for music lovers. She was awarded the Golden Exlibriga for the most beautiful book of the year 2015 in the Lodz Province CHALLENGE: The cover along with the dust jacket and the layout of the medium refer closely to the new identification of the Philharmonic. The use of gold color underlines the jubilee character of the publication. Additional refinement treatments such as hot stamping of the logo element on the dust jacket (signature effect) along with stamping graphic elements consistent with brand identification and selective painting on a hard cover, a monumental logo, add a sophisticated and unique character to the entire publication. Concerts are also given by orchestras from other Polish cities and from abroad, such as the Deutsche Symphony Orchester Berlin, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Concerto Italiano, the European Union Youth Orchestra, etc. |
