| DESIGN NAME: Posten Norge PRIMARY FUNCTION: Visual Branding INSPIRATION: Posten Norge's photography style is characterized by highlighting the red element in each image. This is achieved by minimalistic composition, which not only provides a clean backdrop but also provides a conceptual link to Posten Norge’s message of going great distances for their customers. Bring is owned by Posten Norge. The Bring photography style is only slightly different from Posten Norge’s, and co-branding takes place. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Copenhagen based photographer Soren Nielsen is specializing in visual branding and corporate photography. As a specialist, he has been assigned to implement Posten Norge's visual identity. Soren's primary focus has been vehicles in urban and natural landscapes, as well as large indoor environments. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The images produced are part of Posten Norge and Bring’s Image Bank and are regularly being used to promote the values of the company. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2008 and has led to intensified travel and hundreds of images from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and The Netherlands. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Photos shot on location with a Hasselblad digital camera. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The images showcases a part of the Scandinavian daily life. The landscape becomes a part of Posten Norge and Bring’s DNA. TAGS: posten, postennorge, bring, sorennielsencom, landscapephotography RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Many hours of location scouting and logistics planning were needed, before each photo shoot. The photo shoot itself often took only half an hour, concerning the fact, that we were working on public roads. CHALLENGE: Moving big vehicles around on public roads, combined with changing weather conditions. NAME: Posten Norge PROFILE: Copenhagen based photographer Soren Nielsen is specializing in visual branding and corporate photography. For more than two decades, Soren has worked with firms of all sizes, and always with the goal of taking pictures that are timeless, easily recognizable and memorable. A dedicated photographer who always puts something of himself into his work, Soren sums up his approach to his work this way. "Once the picture is taken, you can't tell whether it took five minutes, five hours or five days to set up the shot. But it only takes five seconds to see whether it's a good or bad picture. That's what's so great about photography". Soren's style is often described as typically Scandinavian, - simple, clean, minimalistic. And although the look reflects his passion for Scandinavia, his assignments have taken him throughout Europe and as far away as the Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Bangladesh, and India. Even though no two of his assignment are the same, Soren always approaches them with the same level of preparation, respect, creativity, and originality. "You need to understand what the assignment is and you need to remain faithful to it. But once you come up with a good idea and figure out how to make it work, the rest is just a matter of taking pictures the best you know how." |
