PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chocolate Packaging
INSPIRATION: Our brief was to redesign their existing Green Dream - Chocolates range with a focus on the pleasure of treating yourself, guilt-free. We turned their former baseline into a real brand name and utilized ‘Chocolates from Heaven’ to transport us to a world of pleasure. The dreamy surreal illustrations create an imaginary world that allows us to dream of ‘heavenly’ flavors. Every detail is designed to bring a smile to your face, inspired by simple and colorful flowers which are the symbol of heaven. The tactile wrapper and hot-foil finishes enhance the feeling of craftsmanship, honest ingredients, and premium quality.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Honest Chocolate is a family owned business situated in the beautiful city of Ghent. They’re a leading producer and supplier of healthy and honest chocolates made with respect for people and nature. They are passionate about quality and selecting the right ingredients to bring you only the best. Their organic Belgian chocolates are made with no added sugar because they believe that it’s not the sugar that makes the chocolate delightful, but the ingredients. It’s in nature where they find their inspiration to deliver you the most delightfully wholesome chocolates.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: An elegant package design, which is not common for chocolate products, was prepared for the product. Thus, decorative packages that can be far from eye-catching.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In order to create the impression and feel of paper without sacrificing crisp lines, we used a process of printing the text and visual texture on uncoated paper and applying a matte finish.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Online research was conducted for the project. Several samples related to chocolate packaging and different package designs were collected and examined. Latest trends in chocolate package design and marketing, good and bad design examples, shortcomings of the category were all noted. Thus, the design process was started with detailed knowledge of the competitors and category.
CHALLENGE: There is much chocolate brand, how to stand out this one special brand is a big challenge. Natural? Simple? there are many choices but how to sand out the brand is a problem. We found out the founder is so proud of all products are consist of honest ingredients. So 'craftsmanship', 'Pure' and 'high quality' are the key elements of our design.
